Lisa

Meet us!

Efter graduated from the Technological Educational Institute of Athens - Greece with a BSc in Physiotherapy, in 2001. She decided very quickly to work in private practice, and she joined a clinic in Athens specializing in upper limb - post op rehabilitation and musculoskeletal pain.

Her passion for “making people feel better” took her to Perth - Australia where she gained a Masters in Manipulative Therapy in 2005 from the prestigious Curtin University of Technology.

In the year 2006 she came to London where she joined a private hospital and by 2010 she became the Clinical Specialist of the department having treated successfully thousands of patients (it is true!). In 2014 she decided to set up PHYSIOrhythm with Lisa focusing on treating private clients in the community.

Efter’s treatment approach focuses on the whole person rather than just on one body part! She uses her clinical reasoning skills to apply different treatment techniques, depending on the person and his/ her individual needs.

Her treatment includes Pain Education & Chronic Pain Management, Joint Mobilization and Soft Tissue Work, Fascia Release, Exercises and Rehabilitation. Efter practices Acupuncture for pain relief and in 2018 she became a certified Cranio-Sacral Therapist from the Upledger Institute, UK. CST is a very gentle approach with profound relaxation effects which aids body healing.

Her motto is “everything happens when it is ready to happen” and she believes that respecting the body’s individual rhythm will give the ultimate results.

When Efter is not treating patients, she enjoys surfing the waves, travelling, swimming and doing photography.

Lisa has been a qualified Physiotherapist for over 19 years graduating from King’s College London (1991-95). She has worked at some of the best London teaching Hospitals including University College Hospital, London Middlesex hospital, Queen Mary’s Roehampton, Stanmore Orthopaedic Hospital and King’s College Hospital.

Lisa has worked extensively in the NHS building up to a management role, designing a new orthopaedic ward. She also has over 15years experience in private practice; working in sports injury/ rehabilitation clinics using real time ultrasound/ biofeedback and gait analysis.

In 2014 she decided to set up PHYSIOrhythm with Efter focusing on treating private clients in the community. Her specialities include Rehabilitation post Running & Sports Injuries and Postnatal Rehabilitation, Acupuncture, Psych–K, and Adolescent growing pains.

From September 2014 PHYSIOrhythm started to work alongside Greenwich Pilates offering a diagnostic service for all those attending classes. A similar service was launched in September 2015 at BURN IT fitness in Blackheath. Lisa also currently works in a sports clinic and at an Orthopaedic private Hospital.

Lisa’s sports background is competing in triathlons and she has a swimming coach qualification. Since juggling work and being a mother of 2 boys she concentrates on running events and duathlon as well as surfing, camping and travel when she can find the time!

Lisa is an enthusiastic, energetic and well-motivated individual who enjoys a challenge both personally and professionally. She feels PHYSIOrhythm offers accurate, holistic and personalised care with a focus on educating clients to be able to self-manage.
